ANG NAKASENTRO KAY KRISTO AY NANANATILING TAPAT SA KANYA
Sinabi ni Hesus tungkol sa pag-aasawa: “Ang pinagsama ng Diyos ay huwag paghiwalayin ng tao.” Ipinapaalala sa atin ng Ebanghelyo na ang tunay na pag-ibig ay may kasamang katapatan. Hindi lamang tayo tapat kapag masaya, maginhawa, o may nakukuha tayo. Ang tunay na katapatan ay nananatili kahit mahirap, kahit kailangang magsakripisyo, at kahit walang kapalit.
Ito rin ang ipinakita ni San Maximilian Kolbe. Sa Auschwitz, pinili niyang ialay ang kanyang buhay kapalit ng isang kapwa bilanggo na may asawa at mga anak. Nanatili siyang tapat kay Kristo hanggang kamatayan. Kapag si Kristo ang sentro ng ating buhay, natututo rin tayong manatiling tapat.
1. Maging tapat sapagkat ang Diyos ay tapat sa atin.
Sa unang pagbasa, sa kabila ng pagtataksil ng bayan, sinabi ng Diyos na aalalahanin Niya ang Kanyang tipan. Maaaring magkulang tayo, ngunit hindi nagbabago ang katapatan ng Diyos. Kaya ang ating katapatan sa pamilya, pangako, tungkulin, at kapwa ay tugon sa Diyos na unang naging tapat sa atin.
2. Maging tapat sapagkat inialay ni Kristo ang Kanyang sarili para sa atin.
Hindi lamang sinabi ni Hesus na mahal Niya tayo—ibinigay Niya ang Kanyang buhay para sa atin. Ganito rin ang ginawa ni San Maximilian Kolbe. Ang tunay na katapatan ay hindi nagtatanong lamang, “Ano ang makukuha ko?” kundi, “Ano ang kaya kong ialay dahil nagmamahal ako?”
3. Maging tapat sapagkat pag-ibig ang nagbibigay-buhay sa atin.
Ang katapatan na walang pag-ibig ay maaaring maging pabigat. Ngunit kapag nagmumula ito sa pag-ibig kay Kristo, nagiging daan ito ng buhay. Ang tapat na asawa, magulang, anak, kaibigan, lingkod at Kristiyano ay nagiging daluyan ng pag-ibig ng Diyos sa iba.
Hindi madaling maging tapat sa mundong madaling bumitaw sa pangako. Ngunit ipinakita ni San Maximilian Kolbe na posibleng magmahal hanggang wakas kapag si Kristo ang sentro.
Mapalad ang taong nananatiling tapat sa Diyos at sa kapwa, sapagkat ang katapatang nagsimula sa lupa ay dadalhin tayo hanggang sa langit.

Jesus said concerning marriage, “What God has joined together, no human being must separate.” The Gospel reminds us that true love requires faithfulness. We are not faithful only when things are happy and comfortable or when there is something to gain. True faithfulness remains even when life becomes difficult, when sacrifice is required, and when we receive nothing in return.
This is also what Saint Maximilian Kolbe showed us. At Auschwitz, he chose to offer his life in place of a fellow prisoner who had a wife and children. He remained faithful to Christ until death. When Christ is at the center of our lives, we too learn to remain faithful.
1. Be faithful because God is faithful to us.
In the first reading, despite the people’s unfaithfulness, God said that He would remember His covenant. We may fail, but God’s faithfulness never changes. Therefore, our faithfulness to our family, promises, responsibilities, and others is our response to the God who has always been faithful to us.
2. Be faithful because Christ offered Himself for us.
Jesus did not merely say that He loved us—He gave His life for us. Saint Maximilian Kolbe did the same. True faithfulness does not simply ask, “What will I get?” Instead, it asks, “What can I give because I love?”
3. Be faithful because love gives us life.
Faithfulness without love can become a burden. But when it flows from our love for Christ, it becomes a path to life. A faithful spouse, parent, child, friend, servant, and Christian becomes a channel of God’s love to others.
It is not easy to remain faithful in a world where people can easily abandon their commitments. But Saint Maximilian Kolbe showed us that it is possible to love until the end when Christ is at the center.
Blessed is the person who remains faithful to God and to others, for the faithfulness that begins here on earth will lead us all the way to heaven.
